Each year, the Earth Day New Mexico Festival brings people from across the state together in pursuit of one noble goal: doing what we can to preserve our planet. Festival Details

Earth Day New Mexico Festival 2026 is scheduled for Sunday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Balloon Fiesta Park, a green space with a massive open field near our Albuquerque homes for sale.

Tickets are $5 for adults and free for kids under 12. While parking is available, guests are encouraged to take a free ABQ RIDE bus or ride a bike to the park grounds. It's better for the planet and better for your wallet! 

This year's event theme is Our Power, Our Planet—focusing on the development and application of green energy solutions. Visit the park grounds to:  

• Hear speeches and discussion panels from leading sustainability researchers 
• Shop for eco-friendly home upgrades 
• Talk to tax experts who can help you figure out which green credits, grants, and subsidies you might qualify for 
• Test drive the latest electric and hybrid vehicles  
• Get practical tips to reduce your personal and household energy use 

The Solar Concourse 

The Solar Concourse is a special sub-section of the event that houses all of the demonstrations and information kiosks related to solar power. Take a walk around the area to learn about things like:  

• Solar backup generators 
• Batteries and power storage 
• Large-scale utility installation projects  
• General off-grid living 

Each booth will be staffed by experts who are happy to answer all your questions. Many of them are company reps with specialized product knowledge, so you can even ask them to help you narrow down your options before making a big purchase for your next green renovation project.  

The Fun Stuff 

Once you've gotten up to speed on the latest eco-friendly products and green energy research, it's time to enjoy the rest of the festival. You'll find all kinds of fun attractions on the park grounds, such as: 

• Interactive demonstrations of innovative practices like solar cooking 
• A vendor's market filled with products from environmentally conscious local small businesses 
• Kid-friendly activities like a climbing wall, art displays, and a kids' market full of young entrepreneurs 
• Rescue dogs you can pet and play with 
• Tame birds of prey you can look at up close 
• Live music from local bands 
• Food trucks with hot meals, snacks, and drinks, including premium wine from local vineyards 

Just like the educational portions of the festival, all of these fun diversions will only be around until 3 p.m. Get there early to make sure you can fit everything in by the end of the day.
